The Energy in Your Hands: A Practice for Healing, Protection, and Light
What if one of the most powerful healing tools you’ll ever use has been with you since the day you were born?
Not a crystal. Not a ritual object. Not something you need to acquire, activate, or learn from a decade of study.
Your hands.
We speak often about energy — about feeling it, sensing it, working with it. But there is something quietly extraordinary about the moment you first experience your own hands as generators of that energy. Not as a concept. Not as a belief system. As something you can actually feel, between your palms, right now.
This is what the practice of healing energy spheres offers. And it is simpler — and more profound — than it might initially sound.
We Are Energy. All of Us.
Before we enter the practice itself, it helps to understand something fundamental.
Everything you see around you — every object, every surface, every living being — is composed of atoms. And atoms, at their core, are not solid matter. They are energy in constant motion. This includes you. Your body, your thoughts, your emotions — all of it is energy, vibrating at different frequencies, interacting with the energy around it in ways science is only beginning to fully map.
We are not separate from the energetic field of life. We are an expression of it.
And our hands — particularly the secondary chakras located at the very center of each palm — are remarkable receivers and transmitters of that energy. In many ancient healing traditions, the hands have always been understood as instruments of channeling: laying on of hands, energy healing, therapeutic touch. The knowledge is old. The practice is accessible to anyone willing to be still enough to feel it.
The Hand Chakras and the Art of Dowsing — A Natural Connection
Those of us who have worked with dowsing — the practice of sensing subtle energies through movement, traditionally using rods or a pendulum — already know something important about the hands: they are extraordinarily sensitive instruments.
In dowsing, the hands don’t just hold the tool. They are the tool. The rods or pendulum simply amplify and make visible what the hands are already detecting. After years of working with this practice, one thing becomes consistently clear — the moment the hand chakras are activated and open, the quality of perception shifts entirely. Sensitivity deepens. Responses become cleaner, more precise.
This is why the connection between dowsing and energy sphere work feels so natural. Both practices begin in the same place: the conscious activation of the energy centers in your hands.
There is also something worth noting about movement and direction. In energetic and dowsing traditions, the counterclockwise direction — known as levogyrate, or the direction opposite to clock hands — is understood as the direction of life, of natural flow, of opening. When you work with energy in your hands, you may find this direction arising naturally, spontaneously. Trust it. It carries its own intelligence.
How to Create a Healing Energy Sphere
This practice requires no special equipment, no prior experience, and no particular belief system. It requires only your presence, your intention, and a few minutes of quiet.
Remove any metal jewelry before you begin — rings, bracelets, watches. Metal can interfere with the subtle energy flow you’re about to work with.
✦ Step One — Find Your Stillness
Choose a place where you won’t be disturbed. Sit in a position that feels genuinely comfortable — not rigid, not collapsed, simply at ease. Close your eyes. Take three slow, deep breaths, releasing whatever you were carrying before this moment.
Place your hands together in a prayer position and begin to rub your palms against each other with intention — not mechanically, but consciously, as if you are waking something up. Then clap your hands seven times. This activates the secondary chakras in the center of your palms, bringing them into a state of heightened receptivity.
✦ Step Two — Feel the Field
Separate your hands slowly and hold them facing each other, palms inward, approximately one centimeter apart. Close your eyes and simply pay attention.
You may feel warmth. A subtle pressure. A tingling, or a faint magnetic resistance — as though something invisible exists in the space between your palms. This is the energy field you have just activated. Don’t analyze it. Don’t question it. Simply feel it.
Now, very slowly, begin to move your hands apart — just slightly — and then bring them closer again. Notice how the sensation changes. This is your energy, responsive and alive.
✦ Step Three — Choose Your Color and Build the Sphere
With your hands still holding that energetic field between them, begin to visualize a color filling the space. Choose it with intention — not randomly, but in response to what you or someone else genuinely needs in this moment.
See that color becoming brighter, more radiant, more concentrated. Breathe into it — literally inhale as though drawing that color deeper into yourself, and exhale as though sending it outward into the sphere forming between your hands. With each breath, the sphere grows more defined, more luminous.
You are not imagining this. You are creating it.
✦ Step Four — Set Your Intention and Send
A sphere without intention is simply beautiful energy. A sphere with intention becomes a healing tool.
Decide clearly what this sphere is for. Healing for someone you love. Peace for a relationship that has been strained. Clarity for a decision you’ve been circling. Protection for yourself or your home. Support for the earth itself.
Hold that intention clearly, feel it as already true, and then — gently, deliberately — release the sphere. You can visualize it traveling to its destination, crossing whatever distance exists between you and the recipient. Energy is not limited by physical space. It moves where it is directed, always.
The Language of Color
Each color carries its own frequency and its own healing purpose. Choose consciously:
Yellow — intellect, creativity, joy, optimism, positive energy
Light orange — productivity, communication, success, enthusiasm
Deep orange — vitality, passion, spontaneity, life force
White — purification, protection, healing, connection to creative source
Green — balance, health, hope, vitality, peace
Brown — groundedness, discernment, maturity, connection to earth
Rose pink — unconditional love, friendship, gentleness, the bridge between material and spirit
Light blue / indigo — psychic sensitivity, peace, honesty, devotion, relaxation
Deep blue — power, intuition, mysticism, artistic depth, portal opening
Bright blue — faith, patience, perseverance, self-confidence
Golden yellow — supreme healing, abundance, the antidote to fear
Silver white — feminine energy, balance, sensitivity, artistic inspiration
A Note on Self-Healing
This practice is not only for sending energy outward. It is equally powerful — perhaps more so — when directed inward.
If you are working on yourself, you might hold the sphere gently against the area of your body that needs attention, or simply set the intention that it serves your own healing, your own clarity, your own protection.
Afterward, honor what you’ve done by caring for your body in simple ways. A bath with sea salt to purify your energy field. A walk barefoot on grass or earth to ground yourself. A nourishing drink. Rest. Your energy has been at work — treat it accordingly.
A simple mantra to use when working on yourself:
“I create this sphere of energy and send it to myself — for healing, for clarity, for light.”
The More You Practice, the More You Feel
It would be dishonest to promise that you will feel everything vividly the first time. Some people do. Others need a few sessions before the sensations become clear and consistent.
But here is what I can say with confidence: the capacity is already in you. The hand chakras are not something you need to develop from nothing — they exist, they are active, and they are waiting to be consciously engaged. Practice simply makes the connection cleaner, the sensitivity sharper, the experience richer.
In dowsing, we say that the tool doesn’t create the response — the practitioner does. The tool only makes it visible. The same is true here. The sphere you create is real because you are real — because the energy moving through you is real, and your intention is the most powerful directing force in the universe.
If more of us learned to work consciously with this energy — sending it not from fear or need, but from genuine love and clear intention — the field of life on this earth would shift in ways we can barely imagine.
We are not passive recipients of a world that happens to us.
We are creative energy. We always have been.
Have you ever worked with energy in your hands — or is this the first time you’re encountering this practice? I’d love to hear your experience in the comments.
And I’m curious — would you be interested in going deeper? In a future article, I’m thinking of exploring a more advanced practice: a specific energetic algorithm for cleansing, healing, and protection. Let me know if that resonates with you. ✨
If this resonated with you, there is more to explore.
